I'm afraid that this is a keloid scar. I've had the piercing for almost two years and it has always been fussy. I irritated it sleeping a few months ago and it's been like this. it's painless and have tried LITHA and now I'm cleaning it with saline

I currently have a little pus filled bump on the back of my helix piercing I got 2 months ago and even though I have asked a few professional piercers no one seems to be able to help me. the bump developed about one month after getting it and I tried the sea salt soaks, aspirin paste and bactine but none of it worked. I had to start cleaning it twice a day with antibacterial hand soap that’s non scented and putting diluted tea trea oil on it twice a day and within 2 days the bump was a little smaller because the tea tree oil was drying out the bump causing it to shrink and push the pus out. I’m super glad I figured something out but I did order some no pull piercing discs anyways to try as a back up. I said all that to say this: it’s basically trial and error 😂 good luck hun!

I am in contact with an amazing piercer who I go to for all my questions. He told me helix piercings often times will develop a small collagen fiber build up called hypertrophic scarring and they are usually mistaken for keloids. They are very easily treatable and usually people treat them with sea salt and water soaks. They can be caused by irritation which in your case sleeping on it. I’ve also heard from my piercers I go to not to put tea tree oil on your piercing until it’s completely healed. It dries out the skin so if you do put it on dilute it. Personally I would try the soaks twice a day, avoid sleeping on it, and I would purchase some h2ocean spray. I’ve heard that helps with those small bumps as well. I have been using it for both my helix and nose and it’s seemed to work wonders for me. If you’re still worried visit your piercer to see what they recommend.

Take aspirin and crush it up and mix it with a little water until it’s a paste! Put it on it and let it dry. Sleep with it over night! It worked over night for me !
