How to introduce a schedule?

Howdy!
So my LO is 4 months and I’d to know what the best way to introduce a real schedule to her is.
Do I just jump in on it or introduce it gradually? 
What are some of anyone’s success with one or the other?
What were some cons to one or the other?
Or is it all based off of what works for the kid?
Any and all helpful hints and advice is very welcome!

Best place to start is with a consistent bedtime routine. I’ve followed one since we came home from the hospital. Bedtime was 630- we put jammies on, swaddled/ nursed to sleep. As she got older it evolved. She’s now 14 months and bedtime is bath if needed around 630/ jammies, bottle at 7 (weaned down to just that one), play on my bed, read books, sing, brush teeth, go in her room around 730/8 - turn on stars night light, white noise, and rock to sleep. When they are super little they’re napping is all over the place. But as they get bigger and ready to establish 2/3 set naps a day. I suggest getting them used to napping and sleeping in the same spot you want them to do at bedtime. When  was doing 2 naps a day I put my daughter down for morning nap about 2-3 hrs after waking up. And afternoon nap would be around 2pm. She has been sleeping 10-12 hrs through the night most nights since around 8 months old.
