confused

Hey! I've never posted anything on here, but I thought why not give it a try. So, recently I got into a relationship and everything was going smoothly. Then my friend decided to text him and act as someone else (she did not trust him since when we first started talking and I thought I could trust him).... so she adds him on snap and he adds her back, then he texts her asking who she is.. When she asked him if he was single, he said yes. i mean who does he think he is? so i brought it up with him and all he had to say was that he didn't think we were official (despite the fact he asked me to be his girlfriend) so now I don't know if i should refrain from texting him or drop him completely. any feedback would be nice :)
