Fibroids in pregnancy ??

Hi guys, I went for my first scan yesterday at 6weeks and we were delighted to see a heartbeat, but the lady told me I have a fibroid at the top of my uterus that they will measure at each scan. Obviously I’m a bit nervous that this could cause a problem in pregnancy, has anyone got any experience good or bad please?

It’s not unusual, and assuming it isn’t too big, it shouldn’t cause a problem. I have a little fibroid in my uterus which has been there through all of my pregnancies without any complication

Yes depends on the size and if it grows or not, the main risk is bleeding after birth if it's big but you will be closely monitored if it is, I have 2 large ones and one is at the top like yours and one covering the cervix, I'm under consultant led care and down for a c section at 39 weeks as I won't be able to have a vaginal birth if it doesn't budge, they have also been known to shrink in 2nd and 3rd trimester so wishing you the best of luck! This is my miracle baby so that's what I'm hoping for too! 💕🎁🎉 You will probably show sooner and bigger, keep us posted with how your getting on 👍
