This is a genuine question

I'm genuinely confused and want to get some insight from women who have walked this path.

Why do a seemingly large amount of women, in bad relationships, have children (multiple children) and then complain and cry that they want to leave because the partner is abusive or unhelpful and from what I read, has been this way for a while?

The man surely didn't change overnight after the last baby?

I'm not trying to victim blame or anything, I just genuinely want to know why this happens.
