What can your child do/say?

Could you all please tell me what your 16 month old (or around that age) can do/say?
I’m really worried about my 16 month old daughter I’ve expressed my concerns with the health visitor but her reply was “go to more parent and baby groups” 
My daughters physical development is fine she’s doing everything she should be for her age if more more, but when it comes to her language and emotional development that’s where I worry! She doesn’t speak any words at all, she babbles a lot (dada,baba,diddy,momma without knowing the meanings) she doesn’t respond to her own name and doesn’t understand anything such as get your toys, get you diddy etc. I’m not sure if she’s just a late bloomer due to being an only child or if it’s something more.

Every child develops at different rates especially with speech because there is a vast window of 'normal'  but I would find it concerning if my LO didn't respond to their name most of the time by 16 months or follow simple direction or show some understanding of what you are saying. Does your LO give you eye contact and point or use gestures? If you do have concerns follow your gut, Mama. If there is something your LO needs help with it's better to do it sooner rather than later. You can go to an early intervention centre in your area without a doctor's referral.

My son is 15 months. He understands his name, and simple directions like bring me something...
We speak Spanish at home so he does. He can say: mama, papá, agua, abra, banana, no, bye bye, nada. 
Recognize some body parts like head, eyes, nose, mouth, hands, belly, legs, butt, 
Can imitate some animal sounds.
Tray to talk as much as you can with your daughter, tell her everything you are doing. Read. 
Try some sign lenguaje (you can find online) they love it. 
Be patient because can be just matter of time but still ask your doctor to catch on time if there is anything to worry about

Well im no expert in children but my nephew is 4 and doesn't speak much at all again like a lot of babbles by comprends some but not a lot of things being said. But id listen to your doc if they aren't worried i wouldn't be too worried.
