Should I feel bad??

I have the opportunity to stay him with my child till she is 3 or 4. Because my husband got a raise! Should I do this?? Or is this me being lazy?

I’m a SAHM and trust me, there is nothing lazy about it! I feel like I’m running a business just trying to keep the house and family stuff going. Between cleaning and caring for the baby, running all the errands, doing all the paperwork, taking care of finances and health care... it’s crazy!

Being a SAHM is incredibly difficult. It’s easy to feel isolated and it’s hard because you are just constantly with your kid without a break. I’ve been at home with my baby for 8 weeks, and even though it’s gotten easier, I’m ready to go back to work.

Personally, after I had my first I was convinced that I would want to quit my job and stay at home with my kid. I probably would have enjoyed it for like 6 months or so, but after that point I found myself thinking I was crazy for ever thinking it would be good to stay home all the time. Some people can hang with their kids all day everyday, but personally I like having some time somewhere else where I feel like I have purpose outside of being a mom. Not to mention, once they are 2.5, they become little terrorists and I would have gone crazy if I spent 24/7 with my kid at that age.

If you’re going to do it make sure you socialize your baby as much as you can. I’ve noticed my stay at home mom friends have kids with a lot of stranger anxiety.

I would love to have the opportunity to do that but we live in an expensive area and my husband is a teacher. If you want to do it, go for it! Not lazy at all - it’s such hard work being Mom all day!
