GBS test?

My doctor told me that I’ll have the group b strep test at my next appointment. Those of you that have had this done, what does it entail? Honestly, pelvic exams freak me out and I’ve had panic attacks during them in the past. Could I refuse the test and just ask them to give me the antibiotics during labor regardless?

It’s just a quick poke of a swab into the opening of ur vagina and bootyhole. Super super quick

It’s a swab from the vagina to rectum, not inside to the cervix like a Pap smear. Some doctors will let you even do the swab yourself.

They just take a swab aka long Q-tip, stick it in your vagina do a little swirl then rub your butthole. It takes less than 10 seconds.

You do NOT want those antibiotics during labor unless you actually need them, trust me. It can give you digestive side effects (like all antibiotics), & those were not fun for me. It's truly nothing.
