TMI sex?

So my husband fingered me two days ago and when I used the bathroom after we finished, I wiped a lot of blood. It looked like it was enough for a period when I wiped the first time. Since the first wipe, it hasn’t been much, but there is definitely still some. He’s cut me before, but it’s never bled so much which surprised me because it didn’t seem too hard or anything. Ever since, I’ve had off and on spotting and cramping. Has this happened to anyone before? I just got back on birth control pills after 6 months and I’m on my second week so I don’t think it’s a period. I’m also on my second week of Metformin if that helps.
