Is this something I should call my dr about?

Question

The contractions don’t hurt, they’re just frequent. I’ve had a lot more pressure than usual all day and the feeling like I have to poop (sorry tmi) but I haven’t been able to poop. AVG 40 second long contractions 8 min 48 seconds apart in an hour

You call cal your doctor but I would wait to see if they get stronger and more intense and they they start becoming in a regular pattern.

You could go ahead and call just to ask but chances are they won’t tell you to come in yet. I had to fight my OB when mine were 3 minutes apart and I couldn’t sit down because they were so painful. She didn’t believe me because I was only 36 weeks. Turns out I was in labor and already 4cm dialated. That said, yours are still pretty far apart so monitor them and call if you want. I wouldn’t worry too much yet though. When it’s real, you’ll know.

At 38 weeks I wouldn't call the doctor. They're not getting closer together or anything. 
Early in pregnancy I was told to call for contractions that fit 5-1-1. So 5 minutes or less apart, lasting 1 minute or more each for an hour or more. Not relieved by rest or hydration. 
Once I was near term my doctor said to call when contractions were painful ending that I HAD to stop what I was doing and just breath through them. She said anything before that don't bother calling unless my water broke or some other extenuating circumstance.
