Anyone take elderberry during pregnancy?

Trying to ward off the illness my son has. Does anyone take it/asked their doctor about it? Online articles are mixed

I took it several times in my first tri when I got Colds (it was winter). I’m an NP and all my MD colleagues agreed it was safe. And it really really did help. Yes, there isn’t great research on it. Just because it hasn’t been studied. So it’s easier to say don’t do it bc we aren’t sure. But to me, it’s a natural option to help me feel better when we don’t get much else while pregnant. Do whatever makes you comfortable tho!

Elderberry products for cold/flu advise against pregnant women taking it. There just isn’t enough information to prove otherwise, so better to be safe than sorry. Same thing with echinacea.

I wondered the same thing especially once it’s cold and flu season. Ask a few holistic doctors because I found my doctors to not really think much of it
