Random question: can businesses remove bad reviews?

I had a really bad experience at a doctor office that has left me with a injury that could be permanent (I will contact a lawyer FYI). I tried leaving a review last week and it went though and everything and today I check it and it was gone and the picture that comes up when you Google the place has changed. I didn't leave a nasty or dishonest review or anything. I left another one just to see if it will get deleted too. I'm so upset about this, 😔

I believe they can message Google and google will remove it if proven to be a false review but I’m not 100% on that. From what I’m aware businesses can’t remove google reviews. Only google can.

No you can’t. I had a horrible experience I wrote about and the owner contacted me privately and I updated by review but he couldn’t delete it. 
Maybe yelp or whatever site it was has guidelines that your post didn’t follow so that’s why it didn’t publish.
