Pregnancy weeks question 🙋🏼‍♀️?

So I just found out I’m pregnant after 2 miscarriages in a row. I track my ovulation regularly and know exactly when I got pregnant as it was only one time that month. My question is why would I have to base my pregnancy weeks off of my last period. Wouldn’t that just be adding additional unnecessary weeks to make me further along?

I tracked my Ovulation as well with the clearblue advanced and go my peak on June 28th. Doctors have to go off of your last missed period due to your fertile window being a week long. Even though I got my peak on the 28th I could have ovulated a day or two later and the fertilized egg could take 3-4 days to travel down your fallopian tubes and take another 3-4 days to implant. The two weeks difference between your period and Ovulation is kind of a buffer for your dr to go by being that some women ovulate and implant sooner in there cycles or later in there cycles. My first ultrasound baby was measuring one day behind so I was pretty spot on in guessing when I conceived.

Basically all doctors go off of your last period because although you know when you got your peak, you don’t know exactly when you ovulated and especially when the egg implanted. They will go off of your period until your dating scan when baby is big enough to adjust your due date if needed.

I am on the same boat. My last period was June 21 but I am for sure I am not 8 weeks preggo. I ovulated July 30 and got my BFP at 10DPO. When they did my quant last Wednesday, they concluded I am about 4 weeks. Confusing. US should tell us a more accurate due date though.
