How did you catch him cheating?

Instinct, no joke I get this feeling when I’m being lied too. It’s like having the flu: I get stomach aches, hot and headaches, and then get shakes. Every-time I’ve gotten this I’ve gone through his phone & his email and whatnot and have found him cheating. 
Trust your instincts, as for catching them idk...

Mine is long, but juicy!! Ha ha!!
In my situation, there were just too many rumors to be a mistake, and too many stories that didn’t quite add up... but he was always able to talk his way out of trouble, and had me believe him over the rumors... in the end, someone told me directly about seeing him “in action”. (Whereas most of the other times, I would hear from a friend that they had heard he had kissed someone or slept with someone, etc). This guy said he couldn’t believe I was still with my boyfriend after what he knew about him. I told him how it was hard to believe rumors over the one you love, but that if he could give me something specific, that would PROVE beyond a doubt, something he couldn’t talk his way out of, then I would see in his eyes that it was true. He gave me a girls first name, a dorm name & room number. 
I confronted him the next day (as I was packed and heading home for a break), and I gave him back his keys and told him was done with all the lies and cheating and that if he wanted to screw around on a girl, he’d have to find a new one!” He said again how he had NEVER cheated on me, and how he had no idea why people would say these things about him, and how he had been cheated on himself and would NEVER do that to me, because he loved me! 
So I asked him what he told (girls name) when they we’re having sex in room number __ in (dorm), and his face went white as a sheet! I knew immediately that it was all true! We broke up that day, and I really never talked to him again while in college, but years later he friended me on FB, and apologized several times for how he treated me, and how it was never something I did, and how I didn’t deserve that. 
A few side notes: He had a pretty unique look to him. He had a snow white spot of hair above his left eye, a bit larger than a quarter, so a lot of the comments I heard were like “the guy with the white spot of hair...”. Not something you would miss, or think you saw...  also, he showed me an engagement ring about 6 months into dating (not actually proposing at the time) to show me how serious he was about me, and to know that when we were ready, he was fully committed.  Later I found out that he had still been dating his high school girlfriend for the first 6 months we dated!! He even borrowed my car to visit her once!! Apparently he PROPOSED to her over that Christmas, and that is when she BROKE UP WITH HIM because she had been cheating on him, and couldn’t keep up the lies!!! So he showed me HER ring 4 days later! Yeah, he was a real catch.

Me too, absolute instincts. I knew in my heart I was being lied to, didn't snoop or anything, confronted, and he gave his act up. Broke my heart but so good I trusted my gut because I don't want to be with someone like that. No one should be with anyone like that.
