Lump in breast

I'm not sure what to expect or really how to feel at the moment. Cancer in general runs in my family. My Aunt is a breast cancer surviver who tested positive for BRAC. My mom had a non cancerous cyst that could turn in to cancer but she tested negative for the BRAC gene and had it removed. Now at 33 I have a lump in my left breast. I go for imaging in two weeks and don't know what to expect. They want me to talk to a genetic counselor but not sure if it is something that will make a difference. I haven't told anyone but my husband as I don't want to worry anyone. If you have read this far, and don't mind sharing your advise or experience it will be greatly appreciated.
