Fast before 1 hour test?

I had GD in my first pregnancy so a million years ago I just asked to schedule the 1 hr at the start of 23 weeks so I can get it out of the way. Of course now I forget if I am supposed to fast before it or eat a light meal?

Not a fasting test. And definitely eat something protein based

You technically don't have to. My OB ordered an early GTT at my first appointment that I took right after and BARELY failed, so I was forced to do the 3 hour GTT. The MA at the office said they recommend women eat a high protein breakfast before doing the 1 hour test.

I think before the 1 hour you’re aloud to eat unless you’re told otherwise. I had eaten before my 1 hour and my numbers were high. The nurse had me take it again the next morning and told me to fast and my numbers were still high.
