People need to fix their cats ðŸ˜
Apparently this has been a very bad year for cats because they’re overflowing the shelters. The rescues are in intake hold because they owe money to vets. I just rescued a kitten (Juno) who was just covered in parasites and infections and is still being treated 2 weeks later.

Someone’s calling me about a kitten they found in the middle of the road. I would have been skeptical of that had I not literally walked up on Juno in a parking lot. I think people are steady dumping kittens everywhere. I found out later that she had been dumped there and the employees of the near by food places were feeding her and her siblings. the employees were asking people on Facebook to take them and Juno was the last one. My first goal with juno was to get her to a rescue but they straight up will not respond to me. The only reason I know why they won’t is because I have a friend who works in the animal field and knows some of these people who work in the rescues personally so I had her find out why they didn’t respond to me, won’t answer calls and so on. And it’s because they’ve been overwhelmed by the amount of cats and owe money to vets. They can’t take anymore. She couldn’t take Juno either,
Shes a home rescue and she’s on quarantine because of feline leukemia killing more than half of her cats. Apparently feline leukemia has been bad this year too. So it was really up to me to find out how to get the care Juno needed. A vet gave me a discount because Juno is a rescue.
So I’m sitting here with anxiety explaining to her how to care for a small kitten and sending her sources. It’s still small enough that it needs to be bottle fed apparently so my first thought was a rescue and then I was like.. fuck, there are no rescues that will take it. For the love of everything holy, get your pets fixed. This is what can happen if you don’t.

This is her now, so that the pictures above don’t make you too sad. She’s good, now that she’s been rescued but believe she’s had a rough time getting to where she is now.

The vet and I have already made a plan that when she’s officially healthy and weighs 2 pounds she will be getting fixed.
