What are you on for PCOS?

TOM just arrived and I am going to call tomorrow to schedule my 3rd day test.  The doc said she thinks I have pcos and I think I do too.

What have you been put on for pcos? What did it help you with (feeling better, losing weight, etc.)? Did you conceive with it alone or did you have to have it in combination with something?

Answer

I am on Metformin, had to change my diet to exclude carbs, refined sugars and greasy food. Otherwise I heard horror stories of people being glued to their toilet for days. But we conceived the very first month we tried. I didn't really need to lose weight but just bloat alone I dropped 7lbs the first 4days I was on it. I can now eat normal again but if you want it to help with weight loss I would suggest continuing the no carb, no sugar diet while on it. I will stay on it through the first trimester to help prevent miscarriage due to PCOS issues.

I had it but I was able to reverse symptoms by losing weight and changing my diet. I was on metformin for awhile too. It helped.

I had irregular periods, I wasn't ovulating, and my hormones were unbalanced. And my cysts were huge and painful. By limiting certain foods, loosing weight, and taking my meds, I no longer have cystic ovaries and my hormones are normal. 👍
