Do you judge people based on their house?

Do you find yourself judging other people’s homes/apartments when you come over? I had family over and they live in a really nice place. My place is clean but the cats fucked up our couch and there is a rip in it. I feel like it’s something I should be embarrassed about.  Ugh I hate anxiety.

I do 🤷🏻‍♀️ not by the fanciness of their apartment but the cleanliness. Holes in couches isn’t anything that bothers me but if you’re a grown ass adult with bottles fully of piss scattered across your floor imma judge the hell out of you and I’m not coming back.

I mean, I’ll judge if your house is literally nasty, but if there’s just some clutter around or things are disorganized I don’t. People live there, it’s unrealistic to expect it to look perfect

I grew up in a very large very beautiful home and my bf grew up in a very poor family, upon his mother finding out the background I was raised in she was very embarrassed to have me over. I did not think anything of the size of their house or the state it was in or anything of the sort. I have never EVER been in someone’s house and thought I was better than them because of what they have compared to my family. the only thing I have found myself judging on is smells, I try not to but I am very sensitive to smells and when a home smells badly then I do not want to go over.

I only really judge the cleanliness. Like you’re an adult pick up after yourself and don’t be nasty. 
Also, don’t worry about the cat scratching the couch...my dog completely ruined ours while I was gone earlier today and now we have to throw the whole thing out🙃

I feel like people judge others on their houses. Tbh, I feel that way because I do it.

No & I hate people who do, as long as their house doesn’t belong on hoarders you’re good. My mil always says “their house is small”, etc and it makes me so mad cuz it’s like, who asked you? Lol

I didn’t read the description before answering. I just people on the condition of the home. I’ve lived in a duplex, trailer, rented homes, now I finally own my own. Just because you live in, what’s considered, “trashy” homes doesn’t mean you have to fit the stereotype. My places of living have always been clean and well kept in and out. That’s how my mom raised me. I see people living in filth... I do real estate and I’ve gone into a half million dollar home where people had a dog that peed & poo’d all over the house AND they smoked inside the home!! They had a hard time smelling it for that reason! They didn’t make their beds, wipe counters.. just gross.

I do based on cleanliness. Plus I have 6 pets at home and pretty much anyone with an animal won’t blink twice at pet damage. They do stuff like that sometimes, and get hair everywhere. It’s no big deal in my opinion.

I don't, but I'm super anxious about all of the friends that will come over after the baby and judge us for our apartment. It gives me a lot of anxiety. Our apartment is small so we don't entertain and we're also on one income so having a large apartment isn't an option and there are things we sacrifice so I can stay home with the kids.
