Bacterial infection while pregnant.

So I'm 38 weeks tomorrow and I got an std chevk and it came back negative but I came back positive for a bacterial infection. Is it just a yeast infection? Because he prescribed the 7 day cream . I know they are common during pregnancy but is it dangerous if baby is born and its not gone? I'm just so close to my due date .
