Birth control makes me crazy??

Question

I've been on several different types of birth control, ( the shot and the pill to be exact) and both made me have ridiculous mood swings. I was always sad, and if I wasn't sad I was mad about something, then I would get sad that I was so mad. I don't get it! Is this normal, and is there a birth control method that won't have these side effects? I want to have extra protection against pregnancy with my boyfriend, we use condoms but I want to have a back up method too.

Try the NuvaRing! I was scared if it would make me gain weight and have crazy mood swings like the pill did, but I love it! I've had it for a few weeks and I feel the same and weigh the same. The only side effect I've experienced is a lot more discharge. And I get my normal period cravings when I'm supposed to be on my period, but you don't bleed of course because you have the ring in. You leave it in for 3 weeks then take it out for 1 week to have your period then each month you go get a new ring and you insert it yourself and you can't feel it! I recommend it!
