Jack the Ripper tourist attractions- insensitive?

Question

Obviously Jack the Ripper is an extremely infamous case 130 years ago.  London have really cashed in on this and has plenty of tourist attractions about him.  
Is this insensitive to the victims or disrespectful?  Or is it ok since it’s been so long?

I don’t think so. As long as the tourists don’t disrespect the place in any way. Also, Isn’t Auschwitz a tourist attraction now too?

I don’t agree with glorifying serial killers and giving them more attention and a platform.  It was a long time ago, but I still don’t believe they deserve the attention.  People might be directly affected today, but the people killed probably still have extended family (grate grand children) so I do find it a bit insensitive in that sense.

I'm extremely fascinated by quite a few things that are on the dark side. That being said, I'm not a total sicko who would dress up in period clothing and do a creepy reenactment, now THAT, is insensitive. There are lots of places with really tragic histories, yet its educational. Salem, the tower of London, lots of castles where they have ghost tours and shit, Louisiana has a lot of tragic history and lots of tourist attractions, Auschwitz, Gettysburg...

I don’t believe they’re insensitive as long as they’re educational. I love very close to Dallas so I’ve been to the Sixth Floor Museum about John F. Kennedy’s murder a couple of times, and I’ve passed the X’s more times than I can count. 
I’ve also been to Auschwitz and Dachau. As long as it’s done in a respectful manner, I don’t see the issue. 
That being said, there is an abhorrent JFK tour in Dallas in which they pay an actress to dress as Jackie Kennedy, get on the tour bus, and look sad the whole time. I find that pretty disgusting.

I think this could be comparable to the Salem with trials, here in America. From 1692-1693, over 200 people were accused of being a witch, and 19 of them were hung. 
Salem, Massachusetts has cashed in on this big time. I think people are curious and attracted to things like this, especially when things like the Witch Trials and Jack the Ripper sounds so much like a horror film.
