Luteal Phase Defect (LPD)/Short Luteal Phase Help!
Hello all!
I was once diagnosed with PRE-PCOS (never have I ever head that was an option...). I had long, irregular, heavy, and painful periods. Since then I have had the Mirena IUD and right after that the Kyleena IUD. They both stopped my period entirely. RARELY would I even spot for a day.
I had the Kyleena IUD removed July 16th, 2019 and have been tracking my cycles using BOTH bbt & OPKs.
I first ovulated July 27th (confirmed with BOTH bbt & OPKs). My cycle lasted 28 days, and my period started August 2nd, 5DPO.
I then ovulated that month August 21st (again, confirmed with BOTH bbt & OPKs). My period came August 30th, 8DPO.
I am currently hoping and praying that this is a result of my body adjusting after the Kyleena IUD (which contained hormones). When removed, my OBGYN said it could take about 3 months for my "cycle to adjust," but I've read online some women advise up to a year before they had a return to normal cycles. Did anyone experience anything similar?
I've looked up Short Luteal Phases/Luteal Phase Defects (LPD), where a woman has a 10 day or less Luteal Phase (DPO until menstruation). Concurent issues are being anorexic/underweight, too much exercise, being overweight (which I am), thyroid issues (I have a hypo/underactive thyroid), too much stress (maybe?), endometriosis, and having PCOS (I was told I have "Pre-PCOS," whatever the hell that means).
I'm just looking for anyone who has any experiences with Short Luteal Phases to share their stories or information with me.
*EDIT:*
I should also add that my hypothyroidism is being both treated and monitored. I have been on levothyroxine for years and have annual blood tests to monitor my condition.
