Finally my turn! *Long story*

I delivered my baby boy August 16th, and I’m just getting around to writing this! On August 15th I had an OB appointment and got my membranes swept around 10am. I was already 5cm, 90% effaced and I had bulging water. Keep in mind I had gone into labor at 32 weeks and the managed to stop it with magnesium, which is why I was so dilated then I proceeded to have prodromal labor for weeks until 38 weeks when I got the sweep. Around 2pm I have some cramps and back pain which I brushed off and went home and bounced on my yoga ball, around 8pm the back pain started getting worse but I wasn’t exactly having regular contractions so I tried everything including icing my back, hot water on my back, rocking on my hands and knees... Nothing helped, so I told my husband it was time to go in... He thought it was gonna be another false alarm and told me to take myself, now we live 3 minutes from the hospital so I waddled out to the car and went to triage. I get there and the nurses aren’t taking me serious but I was certain if they weren’t admitting me to have a baby they would be giving me nausea medicine and something for the pain before I left. They checked me and I was 6cm 100%, and my water was super thin and super low. I was staying!! So I texted my husband and my mom and tell them to head in. The nurses get me an IV and I’m repeatedly asking for nausea medicine, by midnight I have the epidural, and honestly getting the epidural compared to the back labor was no big deal, I felt like my back was breaking into a million pieces. Finally I get my nausea medicine and I’m super tired but not in pain anymore, then they broke my water by 12:30am! I hang out with my parents while my husband naps until 1am when my parents stepped out of the room. I ask the nurse to check me because I started feeling pressure. 10cm pushing time. By the time my mom was back in the room and my husband was up my epidural wasn’t strong enough and my back was shattering again. Ouch.. I ask for them to add more to the epidural and they call the anesthesiologist. 2am rolls around and the back pain and pressure is getting to be too much, the nurse suggests practice pushes, I agreed. Right when we get my legs up the anesthesiologist walks in AND SHE SENDS HIM AWAY, I go into full blown panic “I can’t push with the back pain, I’m not doing it, you said I could have more, why did you send him away, I thought it was just to practice!” They get me calmed down a little and put an oxygen mask on me as baby’s heart dropped a little during my panic. They get me more epidural and as soon as they gave me it around 2:30am I could barely stop myself from pushing. They suggested to let me labor down some and I asked them to just look and baby was crowning. I was pushing by 2:45 and baby was out by 2:50am! Around 7 minutes of pushing and only 6 or so hours in active labor and 2 stitches for this first time momma! 😛 Long story short here is my perfect baby boy
