Swelling at 32 weeks pregnant *plus size*
Hi ladies
I need your advice and input today.
I am currently 32 weeks pregnant and have started to experience abnormal swelling in my hands and feet. Now, I do suffer from lymphoedema in both legs and feet in general, so I know what is seen as normal swelling in my case. I have had lymphoedema since childhood, so I have gotten used to my new normal when it comes to my legs and feet. I am also plus sized.
Over the last two days, however, I noticed that the swelling in my legs and feet have increased dramatically. Even my toes feel swollen, making it uncomfortable to walk and move normally. Last night, while I was up battling the dreaded reflux, I rubbed some cream in my hands and discovered my hands are sore to the touch and little bit swollen. This morning, I noticed my loose-fitting wedding band is tight and making indents on my finger.
I immediately checked my blood pressure, which came back normal at 121/79. Also, I saw my Ob/gyn two days ago, who also checked my blood pressure and urine - both of which also came back normal. I drink a lot of water and although I am a teacher, my load has been lightened, which means that I dont spend too much time on my feet.
When should I worry about this swelling? Should I just wait it out to see how my blood pressure reacts? I dont want to bother my Ob/gym, unless it is absolutely necessary - I will only see him again in 3 weeks, unless something goes wrong.
Should I worry about pre-eclampsia?? This is my first pregnancy that has lasted this far, so I am a little paranoid.
