Do you think that’s fair ?

During the week we visit my parents 2x a week for like 2 hrs and one day weekends for about 4 hrs(most of the time ) (we live with his family before any one asks about time with his family...hopefully not for too long )

I'm confused. Fair? Fair to whom? I think the amount of time spent with extended family is totally up to you guys-- not sure where the concept of fairness comes in. Maybe edit post to add more info?

Since you live with his family it shouldn’t be a problem on when you want to see yours. If you wanted to see them everyday then so be it and it really shouldn’t be ANY restrictions to that. I live with my boyfriend and his family as well so I understand.

For me personally it is too much time.. but then again I'm the type to want my own space.. everyone is different.

If you want to see your parents more then take yourself. He doesn’t need to go with you every single time. And it’s not like you have a choice in staying with the in-laws.

Between living with his family and the amount of time with your family I’d be losing my mind. We are close with our families, but we have our own family that is our priority. We actually see our families more since having kids because grandparents lol. Before kids it was just us and occasional dinner plans with family.

It depends if you live with his family of course you’d see them more.. if you want to see your family more or less.. why don’t you?
