Swaddle Transitioning
Hi all! I have a question regarding how you and your family went about transitioning from pretty restrictive swaddles (arms pinned to sides for almost no movement, while keeping the legs pretty free) to sleep blankets.
I have been reading that it's best to do it slowly, so we got our little guy a swaddle blanket that you can use with arms closed off or pulled through once fully transitioned. We had to start the transition because our boy has started trying to roll while swaddled restrictively.
Unfortunately, we also noticed his favorite sleep comfort (his dockatot) was smelling mildewy, even though it was clean, so we are needing to transition him out of not using that anymore too. Because he isn't in the dockatot, he is trying to roll more. And because he is trying to roll more, he is needing to transition out of swaddle. But I am noticing that with this new swaddle, all he wants to do is play with his hands, not self soothe.
