My 39 going-on 4-year-old

I need to vent for a minute. A couple weeks ago Dan (my husband) told me his back is getting worse. He had back surgery a long time ago but still has a lot of issues and pain. I asked if it was time for him to get another nerve burn (which has helped him for months at a time be able to function fairly normally) and he said said yes. I told him to call the pain specialist he’s seen in the past, make sure they know he has private insurance now (last time he went he was still on Medicaid) and make the consult appt so he can get in for the nerve burn before it gets too debilitating. All week I have been asking him if he called or if he wants to give me the information so I can call for him. All week he has told me “I’ll do it.” Well he is still in bed today because it hurts so bad. I asked if he called and of course he hasn’t. I would have done it if he’d given me the phone number or even just the doctor’s name and his insurance info. But he won’t because he’ll “do it”. I’d put my foot up his a** but it’s injured (I’m on crutches because I’m super clumsy and fell down some stairs last weekend, severely spraining my right ankle) so I can’t. I’m ready to smack him upside the head until I knock something loose. Something that has some common sense with a hint of being able to adult.
