Have I done something wrong?

So me and this guy have been talking for three months now but have never been on a date. Like we made a loose plan for one that never happened but this other guy asked me on a date This weekend and I said yes. I let the first guy know because we’ve been speaking so I thought it was only fair to say but he’s now hurt but we haven’t even met up in all that time. There’s nothing wrong with me going on this date right?
