I am so confused... TMI

I met this guy online and we started snap chatting. After a couple weeks he said I was attractive and I thought he was also so I invited him over and I though he wanted to have sex and so did I. He comes and he starts kissing me passionately and biting my neck and touching me, however he doesn’t make any moves to actually having sex so I ask: “is this what you wanted to do?” And he goes “it wasn’t in the plan but now that’s happening I do” so I said okay maybe I have to make the move. I suggest he takes off his clothes and he hesitates so I say “oh, if you want to. You don’t have to” and he said no it’s okay and he takes them off. Again, we are touching and kissing each other but no leads so I get confused and asked “are we going to have... regular sex?” He laughs and says “sorry I broke your heart”. I’m like huh? 🤔 so i stopped and just lay down. He starts playing with me hair so I get dressed and ask what time he’s leaving, to which he replied soon. No signs of him leaving so I stand up, fix my hair and he follows but he stands in front of me and starts touching my face, kissing and hugging me, asking if I’m okay. I said “yes! Just tired” (and confused of course)... now I’m not sure if he only wanted to have a romantic, non sexual night but he kept saying he wanted sexual activity for sure... maybe he meant just making each other cum but not with vagina intercourse? I don’t know what to think or if I should ask him what happened. His driving to his place now but I honestly feel misled and confused and I don’t know if it’ll be too awkward to ask... maybe he wasn’t into me when he saw me in real life 🤷🏻‍♀️ however we’ve been snap chatting for a while 🤔 I don’t know.
