Hernia?

Question

Has anyone gotten a hernia from pregnancy? I’m having really bad pain on my left side of my stomach and is sensitive to touch that area. I know it’s not round ligament pain. It started yesterday and is making sleeping awful because it hurts to turn over, sit up, and just gets random shocks of pain. I’ve never had one before so wondering what it feel like to people who have gotten one.

Yup! Right behind my belly button. Only hurts sometimes maybe by baby position? But hurts if even slightly touched or rubbed against a counter. It gets really bad where I can’t even bend down so I put on maternity belt and it helps a lot

I have an umbilical hernia.  Happened after #2 was born so this is my first pregnancy with one.  I have a noticeable bump at the top of my belly button.  It hurt when it happened but was fine until I started to get big from my pregnancy.   Now it’s mostly annoying as it pops out.  It does irritate me from time to time and even though it’s by my belly button - when I’ve been moving a lot  I do have pain off on my left side that isn’t round ligament pain. Not sure if it’s hernia related or not.  I just have to take it slow.  They won’t do anything for a hernia while pregnant unless it becomes an emergency situation.   I use KT tape to help give a little extra support which helps keep it popped in.

I had to go for an emergency visit due to pain just as you described. It was TERRIBLE!! I cried it hurt so much because I couldn’t roll over, sit up straight, anything without severe pain. Turned out I had a pretty large fibroid that was irritated. Was told there was nothing I could do but hope it shrank as the baby outgrew it. It wouldn’t hurt the baby, only me. I got a belly band and a pregnancy pillow that day and took it easy for about a week. It hasn’t hurt since. I think I strained myself while at the beach. I was picking up my nephew and walking a lot in the sand. It really did a number on me!
