Quitting an apprenticeship

Emilia

Hey ladies.

I am currently working full time and about 6 months into my job, my employer asked if I wanted to start an apprenticeship with them. Initially i wanted to, to better my own qualifications etc. But after a month or so, I came to realise that they wanted me to do it so I have knowledge of more of management style stuff. Whilst I completely love the fact they have faith in me to be management, I feel like I was pushed to do it. My boss wants to retire soon and has asked me to take on her role in the next few years...

Now I want to quit the course. I hate the course. I dont know what to do. I'm scared to tell my boss I dont want to continue the course. They only paid 10% of the course which was £900 as the rest was paid by the government (£10,000 course, then received a £100 discount as I know the owner of the training provider). I want to continue to work there until I find another job nearer home ( it's a 50 min drive there).

Would you continue the course if you disliked it? Or would you quit before you waste more time?

I'm only 26 and feel like I have no life with working full time then coming home to study.

Please help me. I'm torn 😭😭😭
