So I just got the patch today, “xulane” is what it’s called. Is it highly effective? What do you know about it? Have you been on it before? What was your experience like? I was thinking about getting the implant or even an iud but they’re expensive 😣

I’ve been on it for 13 months. It is 91% effective!
I like the patch bcs I haven’t had any side effects. I also like that I know exactly when I’ll get my period :)

Its 99.9% effective if used correctly but most dont use it correctly so it falls to 91% with average use. My friend has the patch. Ive never had it. She loves it. I have the iud which is 99.9% effective. With insurance i got my iud for free. Periods stopped after month 4. We dont use condoms or pull out and ive never gotten pregnant. I check my strings monthly. Meds dont interact with it but they do with the patch. No pills, no pharmacy, no forgetting your method. The insertion appt took 5 mins from walking in to walking out. Went to work the same day. My only side effect was 2 weeks of bad cramps. Ive had the iud for over a year ill never use anything else.
