Bedrest ?

Is it possible my doctor may put me on bed rest for the rest of my pregnancy ? Im 35 weeks 4 days . I'm 14 years old turning 15 this weekend and I come to school everyday 8:00 am - 4:00 pm . I've been having multiple Braxton Hicks everyday for the past week and a half . My feet get extremely swollen from having to walk corner to corner of campus several times . I really feel like I'm over working myself . Is it possible my doctor could put me on bed rest ? I have an appointment today and want to see what they can do because this is too much for my body 😖

They’re not gonna put you on bedrest for that. Plenty of women work and go to school until the end of pregnancy. I’m 18 and pregnant and I go to college every day all day and walk around a lot so trust me I know it’s not easy but it’s gonna be much easier to finish your school as much as you can now before you have an infant to take care of as well as school. I wouldn’t push school aside just because you aren’t feeling well. Maybe see if you can be homeschooled the rest of the year or finish your classes online if it’s absolutely unbearable but honestly it just sounds like pregnancy aches and pains that everyone has to push through.

Probably not - your very young and this must be a big change.... but women work sometimes throughout their pregnancy with these issues (if not worse)... and they do shift work (12 hours +) on their feet most of the day...
BH aren’t normally a reason to be concerned - they are practice contractions and can be brought on more by dehydration. 
Maybe at school ask that while your sat down in the class that you could pop your feet up on something to help with the swelling! You might need a decent pair of shoes for walking in too...

How far along are you? That’s pretty normal for pregnancy so I doubt they would put you on bed rest for that but definitely mention the swelling and contractions to them. Are you drinking tons of water? Not staying hydrated can cause contractions and/or cramps.

No. These are normal pregnancy symptoms. Pregnancy is exhausting. They only order bedrest if the baby is at risk, like preterm labor or preeclampsia. If you're uncomfortable or even have some pain  (I had terrible sciatica and could barely walk) they don't order bedrest.

I doubt your doctor will put you on bedrest for that but ya never know! If I were you, I would speak to your school about options for maybe online class work, night school, something else that maybe wont be as hard but wont put you too far behind either. Pregnancy can be hard.. but your schooling is very important as well so I'd do everything possible to keep up in that area bc once baby comes, itll only be even harder to focus on your studies. Just try to keep a positive attitude and speak to your school and doctor! Goodluck hun.
