Long-distance?

So my boyfriend & I will hit 2 years on October 6. I love this guy with everything in me & we’ve been through a lot, mainly being broke & depressed.
He received an offer to work and train for a new position but has to leave to either California or Virginia. Of course he is going & is now waiting to leave & I am very happy for him but what do I do as a long distance? I don’t believe in like an “expiration date” or ultimatums in the relationship & I want to work it out.
Anyone out there who had to deal with a long distance? What did you do to keep the relationship alive? Any suggestions what we could do?

Sit down and have a good talk about what you expect from each other. Talk about how you feel when apart. Accept that the other part might feel different. Talk about how you're gonna deal with jealousy. Learn how to cope with having a partner you only see sometimes. Make sure you have a social life to keep time going easier..
And don't fight or try and have serious talks on the phone!

I’m currently in a LDR. I live in Toronto Canada, my fiance lives in Houston Texas. We have been doing this distance thing for 6 years but I’m making the move within a year or so. Communication is key! There isnt a day that goes by where we dont talk to each other. We text throughout the day, he calls me from his ride home from work and we sleep together on skype at night. And we visit each other throughout the year. You guys have to talk about your future, where you see yourselves. Make plans for the future. Ultimately one of you will need to so some sacrificing and compromising in terms of who will be moving where
