GBS and labor plan

I’m stressing now. Baby #3 and I tested positive for GBS. I know the antibiotics aren’t an issue, what I’m worried about is getting to the hospital.

The hospital is not even 2 miles away (close!) and with #2, I only got there an hour (one hour!) before he was born. Water never broke in any recognizable way.

I have been having ridiculous BH for weeks and am dilated/effaced to 70%. I’m so afraid I won’t be able to get to the hospital in time to *have* antibiotics. Ideally you’re supposed to get them 4hr before delivery. And the implications of not getting them are super scary!!!

I’m freaking out. I also have two kids now, so it’s that much harder to go on a “speculative” trip to the hospital. I’ve got to know I’m in real labor.

My other two I had no pain meds but now I’m considering an epidural right away because maybe it will slow things down. Idk. I am scared of epidural recovery.

Did any of you have a situation where you had GBS but didn’t make it to hospital right away? How did it turn out?
