Confused.. ectopic and sac in the uterus

Had my tube removed due to a ectopic. But doctor said there was a sac in my uterus. But she didn’t had hopes it will develop. What does that means? Sorry for my ignorance. I was on pain medicine and couldn’t think straight and didn’t ask why. Has anyone had this before and what was the out come? Did she meant it wasn’t going to develop because of the surgery? Or the vaginal bleeding that comes after the surgery?
