Please don’t judge me. I’ve seen different post about types of twin different women are having. My question is what type of twins does it looks like I’m having? I’ve seen several post about mono/di and some other type and I’m confused.

They appear to be di/di which means they have their own sac and own placenta. That’s what the short names for them mean. Di means 2 and mo means 1. If they are mo/mo they would have the same placenta and sac. If they are mo/di they share a placenta and have their own sac. It’s possible they could still have the same placenta but only an US tech can truly tell you that. From this view they appear di/di. Everyone keeps saying that means they are fraternal but that’s NOT true. Several girls in here had di/di twins that turned out identical. Obviously if they are 1 boy and 1 girl then that’s the only definitive fraternal stat. If they are same sex you won’t know until they are born if they are fraternal or not. There is a blood test that some have gotten done that told them before they had their twins whether they were identical or not but not everyone has that test done. It’s called the panorama test and usually done if you choose to have them scanned for things like trisomy 18 and Down syndrome. Not all doc offices use the panorama test though so you would have to ask them for it if they don’t and it’s pricey to pay for out of pocket.

In my opinion which I’m no expert.. it looks like they have two separate sacs and two separate placentas so if that’s true they would be di/di (fraternal). Mine have two separate sacs but the share a placenta so they are mono/di (identical). Congratulations on your twins!!

Do/di. They’re not always fraternal, just the only type that can be fraternal. I have identical do/di boys
