Could I be pregnant ?? Again?!
I just had my first baby July 17th of this year. I breastfed him for the first 3 days and then pumped until he was about 5 weeks old, when he turned 5 weeks old I stopped. I have not pumped since and I am apparently still making milk. My baby is 9 weeks and 4 days old. I don't know how long it takes for your breast milk to dry up, it may be different for every woman. I had a friend who got pregnant nearly three months after she gave birth to her first baby and she did not breastfeed. One evening when she got into the shower she noticed her breasts were leaking milk and then she found out that she was pregnant again. But there is more to my story than just that. The healing process after I gave birth to my son was fortunately very easy for me and it wasn't like some women that cannot get out of bed because they are in so much pain. I didn't tear and I didn't need stitches. I got my first cycle on August 17th and bled for 10 days. My 6-week postpartum appointment was August 22nd and they were not able to do the pap because I was bleeding still so heavily. I had to reschedule my appointment for September 12th. Then suddenly I stopped bleeding on August 24th. So I called my doctor on the 29th of August and he wrote me a prescription for birth control pills. I picked up the pills the very next day on the 30th. I have never taken a birth control pill before, I have been on other types of birth control like the nexplanon and the Depo but never the pill. It wasn't explained to me how it works exactly or how to take it I had to read the instructions in the packet. 🙄 it said to start taking them the day after your period ends. Well.... it had been a little too late for that because my period ended on the 24th, I called the script in on the 29th and didn't pick it up until the 30th. So I thought I'd just wait until I get my next period to start taking them. But the pack also said that you could start taking them anytime during your cycle. So I was just as lost as last year's Easter egg trying to figure out how to properly use these pills. At first I decided I was going to wait until my next period. I had the idea that it would keep my period on schedule if I waited until the next one. So I tried to do that and waited a week, then I decided to just go ahead and start taking them on September 8th. Maybe my period would still be on schedule ? I didn't know but I was going to just try it anyway. I have only completely missed one pill since then, and honestly I've had to double up twice but I have taken it at the same time everyday. My next period was due on the 16th of August. I knew that it was possible that I wouldn't get it due to the hormones in the pills that I was taking. On the instruction booklet that came with the pack of pills, it said that if you have vomiting or diarrhea for any reason that the pills may not be working properly for you. I've gotten sick twice since I've been on it but I chopped it up to a bad dinner. But I've also had diarrhea almost everyday since I've been on it.
So I have kind of a few questions to ask to anyone who might know the answers or just the best advice you can give me if you do not know...
#1 How much of a concern is it to have diarrhea and vomiting with birth control pills, as far as it working correctly ?
#2 Should I expect my period with in 7 to 8 days, when my place bo pills start?
#3 Is it normal for this to happen or should I have already started my period?
#4 Can you start your period before you start your place bo pills?
#5 If I don't start my period when I get to my place bo pills should I definitely take a test then ?
I think I'm going to take a test later today just to ease my mind but I still like to know the answers to these questions.
Any information or advice would be very helpful.
