Longest period of my life!

So about 2 weeks ago i forgot my birth control for 3 days straight. I want to add i haven’t been sexually active for a couple months just incase that could affect what’s happening to me. But i had had my period the week before i forgot my birth control. Since september 14th i’ve had a very heavy period. My period only lasts about 5 days. But now everyday i bleed a lot and i’m just confused. I know missing your pill can cause an early period but this is a little dramatic. Has this happened to any of you before ? If so i need some advice to maybe get the bleeding to stop.
