Only answer if you use Cloth diapers?

Debating buying and doing cloth diapers with inserts. Is it worth it, does it really save that much money because I know it’s more laundry? If you use them please share your experience?

Yes they are worth it, assuming you have your own washer an dryer. They were worth it when I did but then we moved and have coin operated laundry, I spend more washing them properly then on diapers

It truly depends on the kind of person you are. It also depends on your babe. Our breastfeeding journey was cut very short and formula poop was SO MUCH WORSE than breastfed poop. Formula poop stunk to high heaven and my babe sometimes goes with every feed which just made cloth diapering too high maintenance for me. You have to decide if it’s worth it to you at a point like that. For me it wasn’t but others, I know they don’t mind.

Yes, it definitely saves money. We cloth diapered from birth and I’m glad we did. I was forced to get used to it right away. At first the laundry felt like a lot. But I’m 18 months in now, planning to use the same cloth diapers on baby #2 arriving in 2 months, and the laundry is not a big deal at all. The only times we’ve had leak/blowout issues are when someone didn’t put the diaper on correctly or baby outgrew the absorbency of the diaper and needed a little extra something thrown in. I highly recommend a system that is easy to wash, because as you mentioned it’s more laundry. It feels like we originally tried every diaper system under the sun, and in the end landed on the super simple prefold trifolded inside a waterproof cover. We only air dry the covers, and they can dry in like 30 minutes, and throw all of the cloth prefolds in the dryer. We found drying time to be so important. If laundry is simple, cloth diapering is simple.

I answered yes because my sister did and LOVED using them. I didn’t actually use them, solely because I don’t have the time to mess with the extra laundry given my work schedule. If you do, it’s worth it: it saved her money, her daughters didn’t have reactions (but did with disposables) and it’s the environmentally friendly option, aside from the extra water/detergent usage. I think that’s outweighed by saving space in landfills imho 🤷🏻‍♀️

Totally worth it but I didn't start using them till we started solids as trying to clean up breastfeed poos is the worst.

I use them and they are awesome!  We bought a mini washer from Amazon and it’s working great to wash the diapers every day, saves money at the laundromat!

I bought enough that I'm only washing them every few days and on small loads. Isn't that much more than using water to do dishes!
