Does anyone else live in a small house and not plan to upgrade?

This has very little to do with children, but I was just wondering...
My husband, toddler, and I live in a 900 square foot home. We have one baby on the way. 3 bedroom, 1.5 bath. Small house, small rooms, but nice. 
Does anyone else happily live in a small house? Sometimes I feel like we’re the only family with under 1000 square feet. It kind of forces our hand to try to live a bit more simply and not collect or store too much for ourselves or our kids. And sometimes our extended families treat us like we live in a starter home, and talk about “some day when we upgrade.” I’m wondering if we’re actually in good company. Anyone else in a small house?

I 100% see the advantage of a small house. There's nothing wrong with it, maybe people just don't understand that you plan to keep living small? People generally have the goal of upgrading and having a grand house so it could be that they just don't know or assume. I HATE clutter. With a passion. I think it's great that a small space encourages being frugal, creative, and in a way minimalistic. I personally want a huge house even if every corner isn't filled😅

I think it's great to live in smaller places! Saves money, saves resources, and really most of the world has small houses than the average American. 
We live in a 1 bedroom apartment, baby #1 on the way. Honestly I would stay here if we liked the city. I hope the house we buy is like yours!

My husband wanted to move into a tiny house before we had kids. I told him we could move into two tiny houses, one to be only the kitchen and one to be all the other rooms 😂 I just don’t think I could do without plenty of storage space and counter space in my kitchen!

We have a small house too and I love it. The previous family had four kids in the house so if they can do it I think we can! I love our house and don’t want to move. My husband thinks in the future we may want to but 🤷🏻‍♀️ I can see us raising a family in our small home!
