How do you support a big family without government  assistance? Currently expecting my 4th and living in nyc is very very expensive 😓 any tips?

I am currently expecting our third, in Ontario and considered low income family.  My tips and go tos are always: 
Shop what’s on sale for groceries. 
If you’re a hair/ nails girl, decrease the amount of times you do it or start doing it yourself  
Meal plan!! Saves so much money when grocery shopping. And plan your meals on what you can get on sale that week. 
If you have a big enough freezer, buy extra when it’s on sale and freeze it. 
Don’t eat out as often/ make your own coffee/tea. 
For diapers, stock up on next sizes when diapers are on sale.  
Make your own meals. On average dinner can be $3-5/ per person instead of $10-$20+/ pp if going out. 
Shop sales for clothes too. Especially now, stock up on clothes for next year for your kids now that they are on sale from the summer. 
Honest I love thrift stores!! Most of our clothes come from the thrift store or buying from another mom as a lot.  
Honestly, I stopped doing a lot for myself and saved money that way. Ex, cheaper makeups, less makeup, having my hair done professionally only once a year if that.  Buying second hand, making our own meals.
