MIL competitive

My MIL seems to be more competitive than usual with me and I have no idea what the heck her problem is. Yesterday we were at my family’s house celebrating my birthday. My husband’s family was invited so my MIL was there when my siblings and I started talking about how close to crawling my baby is. My brother was telling everyone how our family was placing bets on when she would crawl and my sister said she was betting on Monday (today). My actual birthday is on Wednesday so I said, I think she’ll be crawling by my birthday, when all of my sudden my MIL shouts out “NO, MY BIRTHDAY!” I just looked at her and went on about the conversation. But geezus I only said my birthday because of the day of the week but my MIL seems to want to stake claim on everything. It is getting so annoying.

Maybe it just seemed more annoying than it actually sounds because I’ve had to deal with her criticism on our sleep/nap training and I’ve basically had it up to here 🙅🏽‍♀️
