Mandatory Info on Resumes

Every country has their own set of rules/laws but in Germany sending out your CV and resume requires a great deal of very personal information, which I personally find too personal and discriminating, it's like crossing the border with your passport and more.

This includes, religion, marital status, how many children if any, birthday, place of birth, nationality, picture (now made optional) but the chances of making the cut is probably slim without one or with lesser information.

How do you feel about sharing your information to potential employers in these details?
