I’m not sure if I’m crushing on him

There’s this guy that caught my attention from the moment I saw him. Recently we started talking and he showed me obvious signs that he likes me and he even asked me out which I accepted. I get jealous whenever he talks to other girls because I feel like he enjoys their company more than mine...I don’t want to start dating him because what if I’m not crushing on him I’ll hurt him. I don’t want him to be sad. This like the first time a boy has ever liked me I don’t know what to do.
