I’m torn
My doctor has been saying for weeks now that our hospital conducted a study and is now allowing FTM’s to be induced between 39 and 40 weeks, their reasoning being that it is safer for mom and baby and reduces the chance of an emergency c-section. He said if I get to 41 weeks I basically won’t have a choice and they will induce no matter what, but he said if I’m checked and appear to be progressing I can be induced after I hit the 39 week mark. I always just assumed I would go into labor naturally, I had my 38 week appointment and opted out of being checked today. I don’t feel like he’s pressuring me really, but my mom says he just doesn’t want to be called in in the middle of the night which honestly I don’t blame him but would a doctor really suggest induction to keep from being called in?? They kind of signed up for this gig knowing what they would be getting into. I would love to hear thoughts from both sides, induced and labor naturally though. My pregnancy has been almost frighteningly easy so far, no diabetes, no gbs, blood pressure is low, I have very minor swelling in the evening after work no headaches, mild heartburn.
