Do you call your SO husband???

What are your opinions?? I’ve been together w my SO for 5 years & we have a toddler together although we are not married I call him husband. everyone in my family & his family see us As wife and husband. we’re engaged. Does anyone else do this?

I did not call him my husband until he was. That's not a title just tossed around to me. It is earned- with a marriage certificate.

I do because he is my husband, before then I called him my boyfriend even when we were engaged. I do not throw that title around because I feel like it’s disrespectful. If you haven’t officially gotten married with a marriage certificate, and no, it’s not just a piece of paper, then you are engaged, not married. So the terms husband and wife shouldn’t be thrown around.

I called him my husband when he became my husband. Before he was my husband he was my fiancé or my boyfriend. Because he wasn’t my husband.

I mean if you're in one of the 5 states that allows common law marriages it counts. If you're not and just saying it.. I mean.. if you believe in your heart your married idc but if you're saying it just to be cute or something then it's a little offensive because marriage isn't a light ordeal.

When we got engaged I called him my husband.. only because I can’t stand saying “my fiancée” all the damn time.. I just hate the word.. but, depending on what state you live in, after 3 years of living together you are technically in a common law marriage.. either way, who tf cares?? If you want to call him that and everyone sees him as that, no one else’s opinion matters.

I will when I marry him. He’ll occasionally cal me his future wife (and I’ll call him my future husband), but that’s as close as we get at the moment.
