First sippy cup??

Question

My baby should be starting water soon. If possible I'd love to avoid the other sippys that spill etc. Has anyone used this right from the getco with a baby? I know it might be harder for her to get used to but once she does I feel like it will be nice because I know if I don't buy them now, I will when she is older. She is 6 months now. Hasn't had water yet just planning for the future!

We did the weighted straw cup before these. By 12 months we were using these. It’s going to depend if your baby can figure them out or not. And they’re not entirely spill proof.

My kids use these sippy’s cause they take them easily. But honestly, when they throw them on the ground they spill everywhere

We used this as one of the first cups after the bottle. It mimics drinking out of a real cup better than most other sippy cups.

My son has 2 of these cups. He’s a year old and he LOVES this cup. He doesn’t, never has, and now won’t even try, to drink out of a sippy cup. I love this one! Definitely worth the money

Most people I’ve talked to loved these cups, however they were and still are my least favourite cups we have ever tried. I originally got them because I work in the dental field so I’m well aware of how great the no spout design is for their teeth and I was looking forward to the no spill aspect. First off, these cups are not non-spill unless I’ve just had the worst luck ever! Lol. We have purchased two and both spill excessively unless always kept in an upright position. There are far better options for non spill in my opinion. Secondly, we started with these at 6 months and my daughter couldn’t handle the amount of water they allowed out. She was able to get such a big mouthful of water that she would take too much and either start coughing and choking on it or she would end up spitting half of it out all over herself. We thought it might get better with practice but we used them daily for a couple months and nothing improved. We ended up switching to a hard spout cup. We used the playtex sipsters sippy cup which are also spill proof and they worked a lot better for us. When she was a bit older we also discovered the contigo autospout water bottle and they are so far the most spill proof we have found so far.

I started with these for my son! I initially offered him water from the cup part without the lid screwed on so he was drinking from an open cup and I would tilt it up just enough so he could get some water on his lips and in his mouth so he knew that was what it was. I think that helped him know what to do to get water to come out.

I started these right from the start with these. My twins love them. They very quickly learned how to use them.

We transitioned to sippy cups with the phillips avent transition cups that have a soft spout, but then I moved directly on to these and havent looked back! They are AWESOME. My son figured it out on the first try after I showed him how to sip from it (at 12 months old). He also transitioned really quickly to an open cup from this as it had a very similar feel to drinking from a regular cup. Last, they leak less and are easier to clean than any other sippy cup we have tried. The only time we ever have leaks is if he throws it on the floor, but Ive put them in my purse, in the diaper bag, in a lunch box without issue. They also sell caps for these now, too, just in case! We have probably 6 of these cups and they have lasted around two years so far and are going strong. Definitely worth purchasing.

Well my son has a sippy he has used since 3 months for water and then we bought one of these and he hates it . The flow is too slow and he can’t figure out how to get it out 😂he just turned 8 months and since he was early 7 months adjusted age. But worse case you buy it an baby can’t use it so you go buy a cheaper on to use for now

Don’t think a 6 month old would understand how to use it I’d use something with a soft sprout
