Diaper rash?

My week old boy has a diaper rash. It’s red and between the cheeks. Could it be his formula? Or just from his poop? I noticed it got worse today so I put baby powder on it to dry it out. I’m not sure what else to do besides his diaper paste. Any advice? I’m going to try to air ur out tonight after I give him a bath.

Definitely air him out. I wouldn’t put a diaper on him when he sleeps just use those pads under him. Dry it real good when you do change him. My boy just had it bad and it was so raw. Pretty sure it was from poop. But I used Balmex and that did the trick. Use it super thick not thin layers. I loaded it up on his bum. Lasted for about 4 days now it’s cleared up.

This is the only thing that worked for us. I tried every diaper rash cream under the sun and nothing worked. His butt was raw and bleeding when my SIL recommended this to me. You can find it behind the counter at some pharmacies or order it on amazon. It’s seriously a miracle. It started working after the first application and cleared up the rash completely in about 3 days.

Just wrap him in a towel with no diaper for as long as you can to let the skin breathe. If it gets worse the doctor can giving you a cooling ointment
